The expected number of participants is about 150. In addition to selected speakers, short oral presentations and poster presentations will be proposed. If there are too many applications the scientific committee will make a selection according to the content of the abstracts. Applicants have to include one abstract for each wished contribution (oral or poster presentations). All applicants will be notified about the type of their scientific contribution before August 31, 2012.

Registration steps

Step 1 Create a registration account. Fill in and submit the registration form.
You can access and edit your registration data using your username and password anytime. Changes after the registration deadline are no longer possible.
Registration deadline: August 15, 2012
Step 2 After completing your registration, you will be allowed to upload your
abstract(s). Deleting, replacing, or adding an abstract is possible until the abstract deadline.
Abstract deadline: August 15, 2012
Step 3 Credit card payment
Make your payment using the secure credit card payment form.
Only paid registration will be considered for definitive participation.
Payment deadline: August 15, 2012

File Format: PDF. Your abstract will be printed as submitted (no copy-editing).
Including: Title, all authors, affiliations and a text of max. 400 words.
Please underline the presenting author.

Instructions for oral presentations and posters

Oral presentations

Because of the density of the scientific program and in order to make the transitions between the speakers as smooth and fast as possible, all PowerPoint presentations will be projected from a single projection computer.

The provided projection computer will run PowerPoint 2010 on Windows 7 with the latest version of QuickTime, VLC Media Player, and Windows Media Player as well as Internet access. PDF documents will be shown using Adobe Acrobat professional, latest version.

The setup is compatible with any Windows and MacOS PowerPoint version when following the rules described below.

Please make sure that your PowerPoint presentation is portable and will run on another computer:

  • Place your PowerPoint file and all embedded files (e.g. movies) in a single folder and hand in the whole folder to the organizers.

  • Do not use exotic fonts only present on your computer. Use standard fonts instead. If your presentation uses non standard fonts, make sure to save these fonts when saving your presentation.

  • Hand in your complete presentation at least 6 hours before the presentation to the organizers. Accepted media include CD/DVD, USB memory sticks, Flash Cards, USB hard disks, and email attachments to copper2012@ethz.ch

Poster presentations

Display of posters during the conference should be planned with a size of 120cm height x 80cm width. Boards and pins will be provided.
